Almost Monday have already immortalised their plunge into the deep end on the cover of their debut album “Dive” (2024) – though not as a confrontation with the new, but as soothing respite for heated tempers. The sound of these three pop-rockers from San Diego, California, is like a contemporary fusion of Toploader, Empire of the Sun and Jamiroquai, sparkling in rainbow colours across your eardrums. With tracks like “Cough Drops” (2022) or “Can’t Slow Down” (2024), they playfully shift between funk and indie, delve into the latest new wave and catch their breath in the synth-pop of the 2020s. As a safe bet for energetic summer soundtracks, they’ve long since become known far beyond the US West Coast. With singles such as “Enjoy The Ride” (2025) and “No More Regrets” (2026), Almost Monday have also racked up tens of millions of streams across Europe and are steadily becoming a leading force in unconditionally upbeat pop, which goes down as smoothly as an ice-cold passion fruit milkshake on the beach. Just in time for their Reeperbahn debut, their second album “Thank God It’s Almost Monday” (2026) is now being released – a title that not only playfully defies the expectations most people have of a Monday, but also delivers a full dose of joie de vivre and optimism.
