    ABOUT MARK SEYMOUR:

Mark Seymour formed Hunters and Collectors in 1980, with a bunch of Uni friends. The band became famous for its rhythmic power and very quickly became touted as the “next big thing”. The Album “Human Frailty“ was recorded in Melbourne in 1985.

This record has proven to be one of the most important and enduring records of the eighties and Hunters and Collectors were still playing a large part of this cut in 1998 when they retired. With “Human Frailty“ Mark discovered, love, loss, and pop melody. His solo records are directly connected to this era and bear the same stamp of raw honesty and emotional power.

Hunters and Collectors went on to record some of this country’s most successful rock albums, including multi-platinum releases “Ghost Nation” and “Cut”, and became a huge touring operation.

By 1998, Mark felt that he had done all that he could as the front man of Hunters and Collectors. After eighteen years of touring with what became one of Australia’s most successful and deeply loved rock bands, he found himself alone on stage with just an acoustic guitar.

As a solo artist, Mark continues to search for the emotional truth in a song. Mark Seymour’s strength as a performer remains undiminished despite the ever-present shadow of the band he used to be in.

As well as 13 Hunters & Collectors albums, Mark has released seven solo albums and four with his current band, The Undertow. Throughout it all, he has shown he is one of our finest songwriters, capturing our stories of love, loss, human courage and achievement.

  • Xavier Rudd
    Xavier Rudd

Looking back over Xavier Rudd's stunning career, one could easily ask what is possibly left for him to achieve. Already one of Australia's most loved artists, he has earned accolades of every kind, Gold and Platinum certification, and legions of fans worldwide. Yet, with each new release, Xavier Rudd continues to surpass expectation and produce his finest work to date.

Storm Boy, Xavier's ninth studio album, continues this upwards trajectory. Led by the radiating single Walk Away, Storm Boy is both classic Xavier and something a little new. Produced by Chris Bond (Ben Howard, Tom Speight) and mixed by Tim Palmer (Pearl Jam, Bowie, U2) it is a record that reflects the power of Xavier's songwriting – his timeless, philosophical lyrics and his masterful sculpting of melody.

Beginning his career with 2002's definitive To Let, Xavier Rudd put his message out into the world and was answered immediately. Fans from all over the globe were drawn to the distinctly Australian-looking musician, activist and surfer. It was the start of a journey that would span well over 15 years (and counting); taking Xavier to almost every continent on the planet, where he has connected with people from all cultures and walks of life. There are no borders that apply to Xavier Rudd's music.

His earliest live format was a wonderful spectacle, placing Xavier inside a forest of yidakis (didgeridoos) from which he dexterously crafted layers of guitar, percussion, blues harp and vocals. He was distinct, unique and unforgettable. Since then he has played in a variety of solo and band formats, each with an unmistakable personality of its own. The further the ripples of his career reached, the bigger the wave got. Australia was the first to fall in love with Xavier. Then it was Canada. Then it was Europe...the snowball kept rolling.

As his popularity grew worldwide, so too did Xavier's musical palette. Each new record, always accompanied by breathtaking singles, gave his fans everything they wanted and more. In return, ARIA nominations, chart placings and Gold and Platinum records honoured each release, spurring Xavier even further and producing a stellar discography: To Let (2002), Solace (2004), Food In The Belly (2005), White Moth (2007), Dark Shades Of Blue (2008), Koonyum Sun (2010), Spirit Bird (2012), and his first album with The United Nations, Nanna (2015).

This alone would be impressive enough, but in that time Xavier has also released eight live albums, recorded around the world in Canada, The Netherlands, Brussels, and different parts of Australia. Each live album is an essential snapshot of a moment in Xavier's career, documenting his path and commemorating the bond he shares with his fans.

But in spite of all his success, Xavier Rudd has never stopped working. He has continued to tour the world and make incredible records – showing absolutely no desire to rest on his achievements. He truly loves his fans and feels constantly blessed to be able to perform in countries all across our beautiful planet. He has inspired thousands of people and been the catalyst for others to find their own voice. He is helping his own country to reconcile its past, and he is beloved as both an icon and a human being.

There is no one else like Xavier Rudd.

  • The Radiators
    The Radiators
Formed in a transition from a band called Big Swifty, little did they know they would go on to forge a unique sound and influence thousands of teenagers throughout Australia. Following their September 1978 debut in Sydney, the RADIATORS embarked on a formidable performing schedule playing over 320 gigs in the first 12 months alone. They soon came to the attention of major record companies and were signed to Warner Brothers late 1979. The release of their debut album "Feel the Heat" in March 1980, was much anticipated by their many newly won fans and they created history by being the first Australian band to have advanced presales on their debut album.

Six thousand copies had been sold before it was even released, “Feel the Heat" went on to achieve Platinum status and a Top 10 position in the charts. After the band’s first album "Feel the Heat” had become a Platinum selling classic, with such gems as “Coming Home...17 (I Wish I Was)” and “Summer Holiday”, they then released the controversial song “Gimme Head” and “Fess' Song” on a four track EP entitled "You Have the Right to Remain Silent"....which also went Platinum.

During the early period of the band’s career, they were also breaking house records at all the pubs, RSLs and Leagues Clubs - a relentless effort playing six nights per week for 40 to 50 weeks of the year. The band never skimped on PA and lighting, setting benchmarks for others to follow and creating the classic, sweaty rock atmosphere that few could match.

Now with ex-Mental As Anything guitarist, Martin Cilia, in the band they pay tribute to Greedy Smith with a Rads-inspired cover of Live it Up!

The band's lineup is Brian Nicholl - vocals, Geoff Turner - bass & vocals, Martin Cilia - guitar, Mark Lucas - drums.
