Signs of love have been emerging from the Irish club scene, in the form of bittersweet pop anthems and a fresh take on classic boyband charm. Over the last few years, the four-piece modernlove. have demonstrated, with EPs such as “monochrome blue” (2021) and “Nightlife” (2023), how the blend of four powerful voices and a classic indie band line-up can still work in today’s high-speed world. The quartet certainly excels at romantic prom anthems that blend alt-pop and R&B, and to this day are racking up millions of streams across all platforms with tracks like “Take Me Far Away” (2023) and “2 Missed Calls” (2026). They proved in 2024 that they’re more than just a fleeting phenomenon with a totally sold-out world tour that also took them across Europe. Getting awesome support from major outlets – from BBC Radio 1 to MTV and LineOfBestFit – is no coincidence, and already hinted at great things to come last year. Now the time has arrived: with “modernlove.” (2026), the band are releasing their long-awaited debut album this year and on the back of this will also be celebrating their long-overdue Reeperbahn debut.
